THE NATIONAL DENTURIST ASSOCIATION, USA delivers high level continuing education to licensed denturists and facilitates public awareness of the denturist profession to ensure denturists are respected as a valued member of the dental team.
Idaho Denturism at Risk – We Need Your Support
In 1982, Idaho passed the *Freedom of Dentures Act*, making our state one of the few in the U.S. to recognize denturists as licensed professionals. For more than 40 years, denturists have provided vital, affordable care to thousands of patients who rely on us for dentures and prosthetics.
Now, that progress is under attack.
In February 2025, House Bill 123 was introduced to **de-license denturism in Idaho**.
Thanks to swift action by the Idaho Denturist Association (IDA) and supporters, the bill was pulled. But the threat continues. The Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) has now submitted a proposal to the Governor to **dissolve the independent Denturist Board**, stripping away our self-governance and jeopardizing patient access to denturist care.
The IDA is preparing to fight this proposal in the **2026 legislative session**, but we need
help from across the profession. Please stand with us by:
- Writing letters of support to Idaho legislators and the Governor’s office.
- Sharing patient stories, articles, and professional experiences that show why denturists matter.
- Spreading the word in your networks.
